From Monday 24th March to Sunday 30th March, the Museum of Carpet, along with hundreds of other museums and art galleries, will be taking part in Twitter’s first ever #MuseumWeek!
The project is designed to give Twitter users direct access to museums from across the UK and Europe, connecting people to artwork, history and culture in new and interactive ways!
Here’s what we have planned:
Monday 24th March : #behindthescenes
The Museum’s closed to the public on a Monday, but we’re going to give you a sneaky peak behind the scenes!
Tuesday 25th March : #dayinthelife
Meet our volunteers and discover what we’re all about as we document a day in the life of the Museum.
On Wednesday it’s over to you! Share your memories of the carpet industry or let us know your thoughts about the museum using the ‘museummemories’ hashtag.Wednesday 26th March : #museummemories / #getcreative
If your feeling inspired why not use the ‘getcreative’ hastag to share your photos, show us your current craft project or ‘spin us a yarn’ in 140 characters!
Thursday 27th March : #behindtheart
We’ll take a closer look at the history behind the Museum, focusing on our wonderful grade II listed building – Stour Vale Mill
Friday 28th March : #askanexpert
Our Education and Collections managers will be on hand to answer your questions! Start sending them in from the start of the week and we will answer as many as possible on the Friday.
Saturday 28th March : #museummastermind
Saturdays are all about fun, so we’ll be posing questions and quizzes throughout the day to test your knowledge!
Be a part of it all by following us @MuseumofCarpet and using the hashtag #MuesumWeek!
