If we were film stars, then we’d be winning Oscars! But, instead we’re winning awards….

…or at least in the running!

Kidderminster’s only museum has been nominated for the prestigious European prize, the Micheletti Award, organised by the European Museum Academy, given to the very best of Europe’s museums who can demonstrate both an excellence in terms of the quality of its collections and support from its local community. The results are due in early 2015.

If it won, this award would join the Museum’s Highly Commended in the Collection’s Trust, Collections on a Budget category for demonstrating good collections care when moving rare samples of carpet from the old Wyre Forest District Council object store to the new Museum of Carpet.

Earlier in the year, the Museum won a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence award for consistently achieving outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.
