School children meeting the Master at the Museum of Carpet

Discovering art, heritage and industry.

For schools and colleges, the museum constitutes an unparalleled resource for learning about the history of Kidderminster’s carpet industry and the lives of those who lived and worked in the town. We bring the manufacturing of carpet to life in front of pupils’ eyes thanks to our handweaving looms and power looms, all operated by specialist and skilled volunteers.

We partner with schools to offer a range of resources and opportunities to bring learning to life, which can be tailored to the key stages and subjects the pupils are currently studying. Do get in touch if you wish to enquire about a school visit, a classroom session or using our loans boxes.
